Everything began with a promising idea: combining innovative, high-quality products with strong intuition for markets and opportunities.

What began in the year 1971 as a bold project to manufacture instant tea in the annexe of the parental wholesale business, the KRÜGER Group’s company history today reads like the screenplay of a medium-sized company’s dream come true.

  • 1971

    The beginning of our own instant product manufacturing activity in Bergisch-Gladbach, initially in the annexe of the parental wholesale business.

  • 1976

    The granulated tea concept becomes a complete success: 10,000,000 packets are produced.

  • 1978

    Founding of a subsidiary company in Austria to develop the former eastern European markets.

  • 1981

    Construction of the Krüger instant product works, “Hüttenstraße”, in Bergisch Gladbach.

  • 1984

    The 100 million DEM turnover threshold is exceeded.

  • 1987

    The company expands through the acquisition of the two companies, Dr. Scheffler Arzneimittelwerk (OTC products) and Wilhelm Reuss Berlin (cocoa-based beverages and spreads).

     

  • 1988

    Founding of the subsidiary company, "Instant Products of America" in the USA.

  • 1991

    Acquisition of the specialist milk processing company for spray products in Stendal, "Mittelelbe", which processes up to 1 million litres of milk daily.

  • 1994

    Founding of a subsidiary company in Poland.

  • 1995

    Acquisition of a major instant milk processing company, Lactoland Trockenmilchwerke in Dülmen

    The 1 billion DEM turnover threshold is exceeded.

  • 1996

    Founding of the company, "NP-Pharma" in Poland.

  • 2000

    Expansion of the product portfolio with instant coffee.

  • 2004

    Construction of a high-rack warehouse with 50 thousand storage spaces.

  • 2008

    Commissioning of an additional production hall and introduction of a new, modern instant tea packaging plant.

    Founding of the subsidiary company, K-System GmbH, for the „K-fee System”.

     

  • 2010

    Market introduction of the K-fee System.

    Acquisition of the majority shareholding in Fuchs & Hoffmann and shares in Nutrimaine/Banania.

    Current corporate turnover EUR 1.60 billion.
